Business Policy

PLEASE REMEMBER: Although your order and payment are submitted, the order will NOT be charged to your card until we’ve fully reviewed and picked it.  If there are any problems or follow-up, we will get in touch with you prior to charging your card.  All orders are held for review.


We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express credit cards on E-Store orders.  Your card will not be charged until the order is filled, packed, and weighed to reflect accurate shipping costs.  Your card will be authorized for $10 above the transaction total to leave room for changes and updates.  Your card will only be charged for the order total after updating-this is NOT a credit card transaction fee, just a way for us to adjust the order total upwards should you add-in to the order or require more parts than you originally thought.  We will update your order with this information, charge your card, and send you a statement via email.  You can login and track this information with your username and password.

We will also accept checks.  Please note, we reserve the right to hold orders on personal checks for up to three weeks allowing time for your check to clear the bank.  For international orders (and thus international checks) this process may take even longer.  We reccommend using a credit card to process your order quickly and securely.  We accept money orders in US Dollars. For additional payment methods like COD or Net-10 or 30 payments, please inquire with us by calling 507.374.2222.

A note on COD: we only ship COD via United Parcel Service. They no longer accept cash. A money order or bank check is required. Please note: the COD fee is an additional $11.00.


Used parts are inspected for problems before leaving our warehouse.  However, they are used parts and subject to imperfections, etc.  If we have pictures posted of used parts, the are not always exact representatives of what you'll receive.  Please inquire if you would like pictures of a particular part, and know that most often when you order one, we'll send you pictures of the exact one we expect to ship you for your final approval if needed.  No returns on used parts without prior approval; these are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Orders are most often picked, reviewed, and processed with 24 hours of receipt.  Our two basic shipping methods are UPS GROUND and USPS PRIORITY MAIL for domestic customers.  See our general guidelines below or use the shipping estimator (UPS Ground only) during checkout.  Your card will not be charged until your order is picked and weighed, thus alowing us to properly obtain shipment tracking information,  guarantee order fill, and an accurate shipping price.  Once your order is updated, you will receive an update via email that reflects your total invoice amount and applicable tracking information.

Air shipping is available at an additional freight charge, which will be calculated at the time of shipping. The freight allowance below and the UPS estimator used in the billing process are guides only. If your order is oversized, very heavy, or international, shipping will be more. Your final bill will reflect the actual shipping costs.

Freight costs are subject to change without notice due to fuel surcharges that may apply. There may also be freight increases from the shipper in the future.  Our preferred method is UPS ground.  Insurance is included for the first $100 in value; all packages are insured.  The table below is a rough guide; cost is dependent on weight at time of shipping.

This is ground shipping in the continental 48 states. International orders, oversized packages, additional handling packages, and hazardous packages do not qualify for free freight. Examples are: frames, motors, tires, etc.

On rebuilt parts, such as tachometers, speedometers, and brake shoes, a core charge will be applied to the order if you are not supplying us with an old unit to be rebuilt.  This core charge will be automatically added to your cart.  Once you send your old unit in, we'll refund the core charge.  If you don't have a unit to send in, or the unit is deemed unacceptable (non-rebuildable), then the price of the unit is inclusive of the core charge and no refund will be issued. 

Orders of $25.00 or less are subject to an $8.00 service charge.  

At Klempf’s British Parts, customer satisfaction is our priority.  We realize, as we hope you do, that vintage motorcycles don’t come without their quirks!  We promise to make working together the best experience possible, by giving you the information you need to make a wise choice-and if it turns out the part doesn’t fit right, or we need to take additional steps to complete your project, we will-as long as you do the same.  Here’s how it works:

No returns without authorization.  No returns on electrical parts.

When parts are returned to us for exchange, and the fault is ours, they will be exchanged no charge.  We prefer parts credits to full refunds; communicating with you to get you the right parts and a happy bike is the best way to go-and it costs us all less! 

Where the fault is not ours, the returns are subject to a 20% restocking/handling fee.

Parts must be returned to us in good saleable condition before credit is issued.

Shortages, returned parts or adjustments must be made within 20 days.

All prices are subject to change without notice, although we make every effort to keep web prices and quotes accurate.  The E-Store is our pricelist; no, we don’t currently have a separate downloadable list-it’s HUNDREDS of pages long, as we have over 20,000 part numbers.  So, search the site by part number, description, or name, browse by category, or just give us a call at 507-374-2222.
